What can Ai-Generated art be used for? Stable Diffusion can do many great things. Check out the list below for inspiration and ideas.
If we missed something, let us know what else Stable Diffusion can be used for in the comments section!
Note: some of these can be ethically…meh. But I’m here to share what can be done; how you use it is on you.
All of the images below were generated by me using Stable Diffusion!
- Learn how to install stable diffusion for free on your PC here.
- Wondering how Stable Diffusion works? I wrote a pretty simple explanation on the topic.
- Worried about generating the same image as someone else? I tested if ai images are unique to find out.
Art
Art comes in all shapes and sizes, and the examples below are just a few that came to mind.
#1. Digital Painting
You can create stunning digital paintings with Stable Diffusion. Some models come pre-disposed to a certain style, but you can also name your favorite artists and see if something similar to their style can be created.
#2. Tradition Painting Look
Wondering what it would look like if Monet had painted a bustling modern city or a sci-fi scene? You can now make that vision come to life with the help of Ai image generation.
#3. Anime
There are some truly incredible Stable Diffusion Anime models out there, namely Anything V3 or 4.5. If anime style is something you are passionate about, you will have a blast generating with them!
#4. Drawing
Pencil, pen, ink, we’ve all played with them at some point in our lives. That doesn’t mean we were any good, though…
But you can make your childhood dreams come true with just your keyboard and knowledge of what makes up a good ai art prompt.
#5. Coloring Books
You can use Stable Diffusion to create coloring book pages in any style you want. From simple to complex, from realistic to cartoony. Then, print them out and have some fun yourself or give it to a kid to color. So much fun!
#6. Comics Style
There are many styles of comics, but you can try to generate some with Stable Diffusion. And you could even turn it into your own indie comic by putting together a story and adding text to the generated images.
Hint: if you are not a good storyteller, there’s also ChatGPT for that.
#7. Children’s Book Illustration
Often simple in narrative and creative in imagery, children’s books could be your next hobby project! Hey, if it turns out well, they can be quite lucrative, too. (wink-wink)
#8. Concept Art
Concept art is used for coming up with characters, environments, styles and general vibes for video games, animations, movies, etc.
They are usually expected to have a quick turnaround time, and I bet Ai-generated concept art will do well, at least in that aspect.
#9. Character Design
A standalone character will look great with Stable Diffusion, while character sheets will have some inconsistencies. Still, you’ll get to see the general vibe of the character and potentially what it could look like from all sides.
#10. 3D Art
3D art takes ages to sculpt and render, but you can get a similar effect with Stable Diffusion. On the one hand, you get a final piece! On the other, it’s still not as good or usable as having an actual 3D model.
Still, tons of fun to play with!
#11. Stickers
Whether to sell, print or play-pretend, you can generate sticker ideas with Stable Diffusion. From cute to bizarre, your imagination is the only limit.
#12. Abstract Art
I’m not one of those fancy folk who pretends to understand the deep meaning hidden within abstract art. Still, I like looking at it or using it as wallpaper.
You could splash some physical paint on a piece of paper to make your own, or you could ask our Ai artist god to make one. Up to you.
#13. Sculpture
Well, no, not physical sculpture. But you can make a picture of any sculpture you want. Why? Maybe to use as a reference or just for fun. Idk.
#14. Street Art
You could use Stable Diffusion to see how a mural would look on a building. Maybe a ridiculous mural on an important building or a non-existent one.
#15. Tattoo
Design cool tattoos with Stable Diffusion! You could find one you like, or just have some fun with it.
#16. Pixelated Art
Pixelated art has gotten pretty popular in recent years since, you know, pixels themselves haven’t been around for that long.
Anyway, you can make some pixelated ai art for yourself or even use it for a game or an avatar.
#17. Cartoon Style
Pixar, Disney and other studios have developed many great cartoon styles. Some will be easier to replicate with Ai art than others.
#18. Fan Art
You could take a famous actor or character and place them in a unique situation or see them painted in a different art style. I love playing with this feature!
For Ai-generated fan art to work effectively, the person or character must be very well-known online. Or, you could train your own model to do this.
Design
Design and art go hand-in-hand. Art should provoke thoughts, emotions and ideas, while designs have to solve specific problems.
Below are just a few design ideas that Stable Diffusion can lend a hand in.
#19. Logos
Every new company, website, and business needs a new logo. You could hire a designer, buy one online or try your luck in generating exactly what you want.
#20. Icons
Icons for phone apps, website buttons and other elements and more – now you can customize and make them all unique for yourself and others with the help of Ai.
#21. Book Covers, Posters, Ads
Creating book covers with Ai is now extremely easy. All you have to do is come up with an idea for a cover of your book, generate a striking image and slap some text on in a different software.
Hint: Canva is free to use and can do the job just as well. Book publishing doesn’t have to come at a steep cost anymore.
The same applies to posters, ads, and anything else that needs visual imagery and text.
#22. Mockups
Mockups for your website, Etsy or other marketplace listings. I’ve run a few stores in the past, and getting good unique mockups can be a pain in financial and time-wise sense.
Now, I can generate and use my own, which only helps my stores stand out from the competition.
#23. Game Design Assets
If you build your own games, you will have a superb time generating unique items for them with Ai! Stable Diffusion can do wonders for your game environments, objects, icons, etc. (with the right model, of course)
#24. T-Shirt Design
At our time, you can send your designs to print shops and get custom t-shirts, and now you can design them to be anything you want.
Some people even buy their own t-shirt printing at-home equipment or set up online stores with their designs. Stable Diffusion can help you make a unique design from scratch!
#25. Social Media Posts
You could always ai-generate cool photography images of landscapes, cities, and objects and post them on Instagram, for example. Fooling your friends about having an extremely interesting life has never been easier, lol.
#26. Blog Post Images
If you are a fellow blogger or planning to become one, paying for stock images or looking at royalty-free websites is not necessary anymore. We can now generate our own aesthetic images, and them being unique is surely a bonus, no?
#27. Custom Lettering
Custom lettering in Stable Diggusion takes some time to get right but can be very rewarding! Can even be used as logos, icons, and such.
#28. Jewelry Design
Why not look to ai-generated images for some new ideas for your next jewelry design project?
#29. Fashion Design
Another great way to look for new inspiration for fashion designers. Who knows, it might just be what your next dress needs!
#30. Costume Design
Fashion is for everyone; costumes are for movie stars, fantasy photographers and cosplayers. Definitely fun to generate and imagine all of the cool movies that could’ve used such great designs!
#31. Furniture Design
Stable Diffusion can generate some pretty creative furniture. Though… Comfort Guarantee is not included.
#32. Architecture
From new creative buildings to out-of-this-world designs that might not hold their ground for very long – you can rely on ai-generated images to create something innovative.
#33. Interior Design
Not sure if the new couch will look good in your living room? Generate a few ideas in Stable Diffusion to get a sense of what your, or your client’s, space will look like once you are done with it.
#34. Toy Ideas
If you like making toys or just missed your childhood, ask Stable Diffusion to generate the toy you’ve always dreamed of.
#35. Custom Gifts
Surprise your loved ones with a custom gift. You could use Stable Diffusion to transform a photo of one of your relatives, then print it on a card or as artwork. I’m sure they will love it!
Motion Picture
Movies and animations are made up of many images that, when put together at high speeds, seem like they are moving. It’s common to see 12, 24 or 30 frames (images) per second.
Given that Stable Diffusion generates images, it’s not uncommon to see it evolve into an animation-generating machine, given you have the patience for it.
If you want to see someone go next-level with this concept, check out Corridor Crew and their animation film that was generated with ai.
Just like myself, you probably don’t have a team and lot’s of dedicated gear, but you can still turn your videos into animations by using the img2img feature, with the help of ControlNet.
#37. GIFs and Movies
Below are some examples that I made:
As you can see, they are not the fanciest. Stable Diffusion has a long way to go before images can be turned into videos seamlessly. Still, as a project in its infant stages, the results are pretty amazing!
Other Uses
#38. Outpainting
Extend images for surprising looks. It works especially well with images that were originally generated with Stable Diffusion.
#39. Inpainting
Change parts of an image to fit your desired look. New face for Mona Lisa or buildings in the background – your call.
#40. Stylization
Use various prompts and models to create stylized images. I’ve shown you a similar example with customized gifts, but you can also do it for funsies.
Hope you enjoyed this list of things Stable Diffusion can do and be used for. Your only limit is your imagination.

I couldn’t help but notice that you didn’t reveal the specific prompts you used for generating the images!
Thanks for the feedback (and flattery lol). I didn’t share them as this post was about inspiring you in all different things that could be done! If any specific ones caught your eyes, let me know and I’ll make a video/post about that too 🙂
